They can be practiced by any adult. No need to be a dancer.

Gurdjieff Movements

Sometimes fluid and round, and sometimes sharp, sometimes both at the same time, sometimes complex and sometimes simple, these dances and movements are very different from everything we may encounter in the dance world. They help us to know ourselves, to reveal what is deepest in us.

To understand their effects, they must be felt in our body, the necessary passage toward real self-knowledge. Therefore, we invite you to discover them through our classes and workshops.

The Goal of the Movements

Where is my Attention ?

These movements are mainly a means to develop our attention and our consciousness, and to be in closer contact with our body, our emotions and our thoughts. This has a beneficial effect on our ability to relax and to be focused.
  • Awareness of the body
  • Centering
  • Balance between attention and relaxation
  • Balance between effort and receptivity
  • Awareness of our inner space and of the outside world

Gurdjieff taught that most humans do not possess a unified mind-emotion-body consciousness,
and thus live their lives in a state of hypnotic “waking sleep”, but that it is possible to transcend to a higher state of consciousness and achieve full human potential.
